This study suggests two customised workflows of commonly used sedaDNA sampling techniques, redesigned for archaeologists without sedaDNA expertise. We test their effectiveness in the field. To benchmark these protocols, we applied artificial DNA contaminants onto sediment surfaces before sampling.
